Downbound
Heaven kicked you out. Dig into monster-filled depths, dodge the pursuing Pressure, and build a strange arsenal of weapons, boons, and relics.
Cast out of Heaven, the Fallen King heads underground. The beasts below are about to meet someone who wants their crown.
Move in punchy, grid-based steps. Dig through chambers, jump onto enemies, and dash out of trouble while your weapon swings. Choose boons as you level up. The Pressure keeps coming from above.
DOWNBOUND is a Critical Slash game by Juan Miguel Cerda Ordaz, built in Godot.
Dig your way down: Break through terrain and find diggable passages between chambers lined with solid brick.
Six underground biomes: Descend through dirt caves, fungal depths, frozen mines, magma, the Undervault, and the Gilded Depths.
Weapons with tricks: Freeze enemies into ice cubes, chain lightning between targets, or unleash giant slashes.
Build as you descend: Choose one of three boons when you level up, then combine maxed-out boons into evolutions.
Relics that change your moves: Leave pulling vortices with your dash, launch orbiting stones, or recruit a defeated enemy’s ghost.
Keep descending: Finish the Campaign or tackle Endless loops with procedural bosses and weapons that combine signature effects.
Something for the next run: Unlock characters and buy permanent upgrades between descents.
