Ramen Abyss
A top-down, local two-player co-op roguelike starring a wobbly, horn-adorned soft-boiled egg. Slay ingredient-themed monsters across procedurally generated bowls of chaos.
Ramen Abyss is a top-down, local two-player co-op roguelike built in Unity 6 and aimed at Steam, itch.io, Android, and iOS. You play a custom-built, horn-adorned soft-boiled egg with wobbly physics and procedurally animated limbs that can run and roll.
Wield three families of weapons across four procedurally generated ingredient zones, slaying ingredient-themed monsters on the way to a unique boss at the end of each.
The project also doubles as an educational resource, with tutorial videos that teach other developers how to build core gameplay loops and modular systems.
Wobbly procedural animation: A horn-adorned egg with soft-boiled wobbly physics and procedurally animated limbs that support running and rolling.
Three combat classes: Pierce weapons for dash thrusts, sharp weapons for spin attacks, and blunt weapons for ground slams.
Procedural ingredient zones: Pork Plains, Seafood Depths, Inferno Bowl, and Abyssal Broth, each ending in a unique boss.
Narutomaki coins and meta progression: Defeat bosses to earn coins and unlock cosmetic skins.
Systems tutorial blueprint: Clean code patterns and tutorial videos for developers learning modular game systems.
